After a rollercoaster season that started off slow but gained momentum leading up to a heart-pounding finale, Survivor 49 has crowned its winner. Warning: Spoilers ahead for the Survivor 49 finale.

Savannah Louie emerged victorious on the Wednesday, December 17, season finale, securing the title of Sole Survivor by defeating Sophi Balerdi and Sage Ahrens-Nichols in the final jury vote, with a commanding 5-2-1 victory. The trio made it to the final tribal council after voting out Kristina Mills in the final five. When Sophi won immunity at the final four and chose to take Sage to the final three, Savannah and Rizo Velovic found themselves in a fire-making challenge to determine the last finalist.

Throughout the game, Savannah showcased her resilience and strategic prowess, evading elimination despite being targeted as a physical threat from the merge onwards. Her ability to dodge bullets and outmaneuver her opponents earned her the respect of the jury, with even her adversaries acknowledging her impressive gameplay. Additionally, Savannah made history by tying the record for the most immunity challenge wins by a woman, with a total of four wins under her belt.

The final five contestants of Survivor 49 all had to fight their way to the end, showcasing clutch challenge wins and game-changing moves that kept viewers on the edge of their seats. From Savannah’s challenge prowess to Rizo’s idol plays and Sophi’s daring but unsuccessful attempts to sway the game in her favor, each finalist brought a unique strategy to the table.

Host Jeff Probst reflected on the season, praising the resilience and ingenuity displayed by the finalists in navigating the challenges of the game. He highlighted the importance of never giving up in Survivor, emphasizing that clever gameplay and strategic alliances can pave the way for a comeback, even in the most dire circumstances.

The finale also saw emotional moments, with Kristina opening up about her personal struggles and grief during a reward challenge, showcasing the human side of the intense competition. Jeff Probst cited this raw and authentic moment as his favorite of the season, underscoring the emotional depth that the contestants bring to the game.

As Survivor 49 came to a close, the anticipation for Survivor 50: In the Hands of the Fans grew, with CBS teasing the return of fan-favorite contestants Rizo and Savannah in February. The upcoming season promises to deliver more thrilling challenges and strategic gameplay, with Savannah aiming to become the third two-time Survivor winner in U.S. history and the first to achieve back-to-back victories.

Don’t miss the premiere of Survivor 50 on CBS on February 25, 2026, at 8 p.m. ET, as the legacy of Survivor continues to captivate audiences with its relentless competition and unforgettable moments.
