Season 5 of “Stranger Things” has quickly become one of Netflix’s most popular English-language TV titles of all time. The series finale, released on New Year’s Eve, propelled the season to a total of 105.7 million views so far. Netflix calculates its all-time rankings by counting views within the first 91 days of a title’s release, and for batch releases like “Stranger Things,” views are counted for each volume separately.

With Volume 1 of Season 5 premiering on Nov. 26, Volume 2 on Dec. 25, and the finale on Dec. 31, the season has three months to climb higher on the all-time chart. Currently sitting at No. 9, it has already surpassed other popular titles like “Fool Me Once” and Season 1 of “The Night Agent.” Season 4 of “Stranger Things” remains at No. 3 on the chart with 140.7 million views, just behind “Wednesday” Season 1 and “Adolescence.”

The final season of “Stranger Things” made history with the biggest-ever opening for an English-language series, garnering 59.6 million views. This achievement hints at the possibility of the sci-fi series reaching the coveted No. 1 spot on Netflix’s all-time chart.

During the week of Dec. 29-Jan. 4, “Stranger Things” Season 5 was the most-watched title, with the finale attracting 31.5 million views overall. The weekly total could have been even higher if not for the simultaneous theatrical release of the finale, which earned over $25 million at the box office.

In addition to Season 5, all previous seasons of “Stranger Things” continued to perform well, maintaining their positions on the chart. Other notable titles in the Netflix Top 10 during that week included Harlan Coben’s “Run Away,” “Emily in Paris” Season 5, and Ricky Gervais’ special “Mortality.”

The popularity of “Stranger Things” and its consistent presence on Netflix’s charts highlight the enduring appeal of the series among viewers. As the final season continues to attract viewers and climb higher on the all-time rankings, it solidifies its place as a fan-favorite and a significant contributor to Netflix’s success.
