Tracee Ellis Ross, known for her roles in “Black-ish” and “Girlfriends,” has recently signed a multi-year deal with Fox Entertainment Studios through her production company, Joy Mill Entertainment. This partnership includes a first-look deal for scripted content and an overall deal for unscripted content produced by Joy Mill.
Under this agreement, Joy Mill will develop a diverse range of scripted content spanning comedy, drama, and animation, as well as exploring unscripted and reality formats. Adriana Ambriz will continue to serve as the head of development at Joy Mill, a position she has held since 2020.
Ross, in addition to her acting career, has expanded her reach into production and entrepreneurship. She executive produced and starred in the 2020 film “The High Note” and created the docuseries “The Hair Tales,” which premiered on Hulu and the Oprah Winfrey Network in 2022. She is also the founder of the hair care brand Pattern Beauty.
Fox Entertainment Studios’ head of scripted, Hannah Pillemer, and head of unscripted, Allison Wallach, expressed their excitement about partnering with Ross and Joy Mill Entertainment. They praised Ross as a “singular force” with a creative vision that is culturally impactful and inspiring.
