A Repeat Offender Arrested for Alleged Sexual Assault of CTA Employee

A repeat offender with a long history of criminal activity is facing new charges after allegedly sexually assaulting a female CTA employee at the 95th Street Red Line station on Sunday afternoon. Andre Hill, a seven-time convicted felon, was arrested at the scene after the victim reported the attack to police officers stationed at the station.

Andre Hill (Cook County Sheriff’s Office)

According to prosecutors, CTA surveillance video captured Hill forcibly touching the woman’s private areas while she was on duty at the station. Judge Deidre Dyer has ordered Hill to be detained on charges of aggravated criminal sexual abuse, aggravated battery of a transit employee, and aggravated battery in a public place.

It was revealed that Hill was already on pretrial release in a separate gun case when the incident occurred. Back in July, he was arrested at the 69th Street Red Line station for unlawful possession of a firearm by a felon. Despite the serious nature of the charges, Judge John Lyke later ordered his release pending trial.

Hill’s criminal record in Cook County dates back more than two decades, with 35 cases filed against him since 2002, including multiple felony charges. His previous convictions include illegal gun possession and escape, indicating a pattern of dangerous behavior.

The latest incident at the 95th Street Red Line station highlights the ongoing challenges of ensuring public safety on Chicago’s public transit system. As the case against Hill progresses, authorities will be closely monitoring his actions to prevent further harm to innocent victims.
