The Golden Globes Tribute to Rob Reiner by Nikki Glaser

While the Golden Globes do not traditionally have an In Memoriam segment, comedian Nikki Glaser took it upon herself to honor the legendary filmmaker Rob Reiner at the end of the show. Wearing a This Is Spinal Tap hat, a nod to the movie Reiner directed, Glaser paid tribute to him in a unique and heartfelt way.

During her closing remarks, Glaser referenced two iconic lines from the film, saying, “Well, that’s our show. This one to 11.” She then followed up with another classic quote, stating, “I hope we found the line between clever and stupid.”

In an interview with USA Today before the awards ceremony, Glaser expressed her desire to honor Reiner in a manner that was true to their relationship. While she admitted to not knowing him well, she wanted to pay homage to him in a way that she believed he would appreciate.

“I’m not going to linger on it too much because I think that’s what we’ve been doing for the past few weeks. But obviously, I thought if something happened to me and Rob Reiner was hosting a show, given our relationship, how would I want him to handle it?” Glaser shared. “I think I landed on something that I feel he would do for me, too.”
