Authorities were alerted to an incident at a gathering in Churton Park on Saturday, December 13th,
Acting Detective Sergeant Laura Murdoch stated that approximately 90 individuals were present at the supervised event when four uninvited guests arrived.
“The suspects were wearing masks, with one carrying a weapon,” Murdoch explained.
They proceeded to carry out a premeditated, violent assault on the seven young attendees before making their escape from the scene.
“The victims sustained various injuries, ranging from minor bruises to a fractured skull that necessitated surgery.”
It has been determined that the alleged perpetrators were seen at the Mobil Gas Station in Johnsonville approximately 20 minutes before the attack.
An 18-year-old individual from Tawa has been apprehended and charged with multiple offenses, including wounding with intent to cause grievous bodily harm, assault with intent to injure, and common assault.

Police are now requesting the community’s help in identifying three persons who may be able to provide valuable information about the incident.
Murdoch described one individual as wearing a ’36’ Pittsburgh Steelers NFL jersey, light-colored denim shorts, and blue and white basketball sneakers.
The second individual is described as wearing a black hoodie with ‘Lakers’ printed on the front, dark-colored shorts, white sneakers, and sporting a diamante stud earring in their left ear.
The third individual, not visible in the images, is said to be wearing a grey hoodie, beige/grey shorts, and black sneakers.
