Embattled actor Timothy Busfield faced a significant setback as he appeared in court in New Mexico on disturbing allegations of sexually abusing two young boys on the set of a FOX show he directed. The “West Wing” star, who is facing two counts of criminal sexual contact of a minor and one count of child abuse, took an independent polygraph test to prove his innocence, according to his lawyers.

During his first court appearance, Busfield appeared in an orange prison uniform and did not enter a plea. He is currently being held without bond at the Metropolitan Detention Center in Albuquerque. Despite the serious charges against him, Busfield continues to maintain his innocence and vehemently denies the allegations.

In a video message shared with TMZ before his arrest, Busfield insisted that the accusations against him were “all lies” and that he did not harm the young boys in any way. He expressed confidence in his legal team and vowed to fight the charges, stating that he believes he will be exonerated because the allegations are false.

The allegations against Busfield stem from his time directing “The Cleaning Lady” in New Mexico in 2024, where he is accused of engaging in unlawful sexual conduct with 11-year-old twin boys. The alleged abuse reportedly began in 2022 when the boys were just 7 years old and continued over a period of time.

In a surprising turn of events, a third alleged victim came forward with new accusations against Busfield. Prosecutors in Bernalillo County, New Mexico, filed a motion claiming that the actor had sexually abused a 16-year-old girl several years ago in Sacramento, California.

Busfield’s lawyer, Larry Stein, has dismissed the allegations as driven by revenge, claiming that the boys’ mother sought payback after her sons were removed from the show’s final season. Additionally, Warner Bros., the production company behind “The Cleaning Lady,” conducted an independent investigation that found no evidence to support the claims against Busfield.

Despite the mounting accusations and legal challenges, Busfield remains steadfast in his denial of the allegations. The unfolding legal drama surrounding the actor has captured national attention and raised important questions about the protection of minors in the entertainment industry. As the case unfolds, the public will be watching closely to see how the legal proceedings progress and whether Busfield will be able to clear his name.
