Netflix has officially announced the renewal of the popular Korean cooking competition show, “Culinary Class Wars,” for a third season. However, this time around, the format of the show will undergo a major change. Instead of focusing on individual chef battles, the competition will now revolve around teams from restaurants competing against each other.

In this new season, four-person teams representing a single establishment will face off in culinary challenges. This shift in structure aims to bring a collective element to the competition, where entire kitchens will compete for pride and reputation rather than individual culinary skills.

Chef applications for Season 3 are now open through Netflix Korea’s social channels. Only teams of four individuals currently employed at the same restaurant are eligible to apply. Individual submissions and teams from different restaurants will not be considered, although restaurants under the same brand with multiple locations can enter as a unified team.

The show has been a consistent presence in Netflix’s Global Top 10 Non-English TV rankings for the past two years. Season 2 was particularly notable for its intense competition, innovative rules, and higher stakes, all while maintaining the essence of the series.

Studio Slam will return to produce Season 3, bringing back the original creative team led by producer Kim Eun-ji and writer Mo Eun-seol. Their expertise has been crucial in shaping the show’s direction and success.

Kim expressed gratitude for the viewers’ support throughout Season 2, promising an even more exciting format and entertainment in the upcoming season. The show’s impact goes beyond entertainment, as the first season was credited with rejuvenating Seoul’s dining scene, leading to increased restaurant bookings and a renewed interest in the city’s culinary talent.
