Homeland Security Boss Kristi Noem Clashes with CBS Host Over ICE Agent Shooting Incident
A tense exchange unfolded during an interview on Face the Nation as Margaret Brennan raised questions about the January 7 shooting of Renee Good involving ICE agent Jonathan Ross.
“Let me talk to you about the officer, Jonathan Ross,” Brennan began, before being abruptly cut off by Noem.
“Don’t say his name!” Noem interjected. “I mean, for heaven’s sakes … we shouldn’t have people continue to dox law enforcement when they are facing an 8000% increase in death threats.”
Despite Brennan’s insistence that Ross’s identity was already public, Noem stood firm, expressing concern for the safety of Ross and his family amidst ongoing threats and attacks. She highlighted the broader issue of law enforcement officers nationwide facing daily risks and assaults, even at hotels.
The clash underscored the challenges and tensions surrounding incidents involving law enforcement officers, their identities, and the risks they face in the line of duty.
