Jessica Jones fans rejoice, as the beloved street-level hero has officially made her return to the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Disney recently dropped the trailer for “Daredevil: Born Again” Season 2, showcasing Krysten Ritter’s Jessica Jones teaming up with Charlie Cox’s Daredevil, also known as Matt Murdock. The highly anticipated second season is set to premiere on Disney+ on March 24.
The trailer, set to Donald Glover’s song “Lithonia,” reunites viewers with familiar faces from the first season, including Vincent D’Onofrio’s Kingpin, now the mayor of New York City, Deborah Ann Woll’s Karen Page, who is reigniting her romance with Matt, and Elden Henson’s Foggy Nelson, who appears in what seems to be a flashback or dream sequence following his shocking death in Season 1. Additionally, Michael Gandolfini’s Daniel Blake and Arty Froushan’s Buck Cashman make a return as Kingpin’s protege and right-hand man, respectively.
The trailer hints at Matt’s disappearance, with his alter ego Daredevil taking on Kingpin’s forces while being assisted by Jessica Jones and her super strength and sharp wit. Ritter, who originally portrayed Jessica Jones in Netflix’s Marvel shows, including “The Defenders,” is the first character from the streaming platform to crossover into the main MCU, apart from the “Daredevil” cast.
As the trailer unfolds, viewers witness Kingpin stepping into a boxing ring to face an opponent, Bullseye flashing a menacing smile and wink after escaping from prison, and a glimpse of Matthew Lillard’s enigmatic new character joining the cast for Season 2.
