Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg recently announced that users can expect to see new AI models and products from the company in the coming months. During an investor call, Zuckerberg mentioned that Meta had rebuilt the foundations of its AI program in 2025 and is now poised to release new models and products that will push the boundaries of AI technology in the new year.

While specific timelines and products were not revealed, Zuckerberg emphasized that AI-driven commerce will be a key focus for Meta. He highlighted the development of agentic shopping tools that will enable users to discover the perfect products from businesses within Meta’s catalog. This aligns with the industry trend towards AI-powered shopping assistants, with companies like Google and OpenAI already implementing similar platforms.

Meta believes that its access to personal data will give it a unique advantage in the AI space. Zuckerberg pointed out that Meta’s AI can understand personal context, including history, interests, content, and relationships, providing a personalized experience that other platforms may not be able to match.

In a strategic move to enhance its AI capabilities, Meta acquired Manus, a general-purpose agent developer, in December. The company plans to integrate Manus’ technology into its products while continuing to operate and sell Manus’ services.

The investor call coincided with Meta’s latest quarterly earnings report, which revealed a significant increase in infrastructure spending. Meta anticipates spending between $115 billion and $135 billion on capital expenditures in 2026, a substantial jump from $72 billion in 2025. This investment is attributed to supporting Meta Superintelligence Labs efforts and the core business.

Despite the substantial increase in spending, it falls short of the projected $600 billion that Zuckerberg reportedly envisioned for Meta’s infrastructure spending by 2028. Investors have criticized Meta for not clearly outlining how this massive AI investment will impact the company’s financial performance. However, Zuckerberg assured investors that the AI lab’s work will soon be visible to the public.

As Meta gears up for a transformative year focused on delivering personal superintelligence, accelerating business growth, and building future-proof infrastructure, the company remains committed to shaping the future of AI technology and its impact on society.
