Three Injured in Shooting Outside House Party in Brighton
Authorities reported that three individuals sustained injuries following a shooting incident outside a house party in Brighton during the early hours of Saturday. The Brighton Police Department disclosed that the shooting occurred at 12:26 a.m. near Bridge Street and South Eighth Avenue.
According to witnesses, a confrontation was underway when a female suspect brandished a handgun and fired shots towards the house and individuals gathered in the front yard.
Law enforcement officers discovered a 23-year-old woman, an 18-year-old man, and a 24-year-old woman with gunshot wounds at the scene. The man received treatment and was subsequently discharged from the hospital, while the two women remain in critical but stable condition.
Witnesses informed the authorities that the female assailant fled from the scene after the shooting. Subsequently, it was determined that the suspect, identified as 19-year-old Casandra Rocha-Martinez, was implicated in a car accident.
During the crash, a 23-year-old female passenger in Rocha-Martinez’s vehicle sustained injuries after being ejected from the car, as per the Brighton police department.
Rocha-Martinez was apprehended on charges of attempted murder and vehicular assault. Details regarding her bail and upcoming court appearance were not provided as of Saturday.
