The Department of Justice recently released previously unseen images of Jeffrey Epstein’s body and his jail cell after his death in 2019. The documents include a death investigation by the FBI’s New York Field Office and a report from the Lieutenant’s Office of the Metropolitan Correctional Center, both containing numerous photos of the late financier following his hanging on August 10, 2019.

One of the reports, labeled as “EFTA00134598”, shows Epstein with his orange prison garb torn open as an EMT tries to perform CPR. He is seen with TENS pads on his chest, a neck brace, and an oxygen tank connected to him via a clear tube. Additionally, he is hooked up to an IV drip.

The photos reveal Epstein’s severely swollen and red face, with deep cuts on his neck where the makeshift noose had caused damage. Images of his cell post-mortem show a piece of orange fabric, which Epstein reportedly used to hang himself, still attached to the metal bed frame. There are also pictures showing Epstein’s fractured thyroid cartilage.

The death investigation document, identified as “EFTA00161494”, provides a detailed account of Epstein’s final moments, with graphic images of EMTs attempting to resuscitate him. The report mentions that on the day before his death, Epstein went to court in the morning, and his cellmate left in the afternoon. He made a 20-minute phone call that evening, and the report does not specify the recipient.

The report states that Epstein was allowed to make the call in the shower area, with an officer dialing the number for him. Later that night, Epstein was left with two officers working an overnight shift until 8 a.m. On the morning of August 10, a body alarm was triggered, and Epstein was found hanging. The report reveals lapses in security rounds conducted by the officers.

After attempts to resuscitate him, Epstein was taken to a medical area and then transferred to a hospital, where he was pronounced dead at 7:36 a.m. Epstein was awaiting federal charges of sex-trafficking minors and conspiracy to commit such crimes. He is believed to have victimized numerous women and children at various locations.
