Jennifer Runyon, a beloved actress known for her roles in iconic films and television shows, passed away on March 6 at the age of 65. Her close friend, Erin Murphy, shared the heartbreaking news on Facebook, revealing that Runyon had lost her battle with cancer. Murphy described Runyon as a special lady and expressed her condolences to Runyon’s family and children.

Runyon’s acting career began with her feature film debut in the 1980 slasher film “To All a Good Night.” She quickly gained recognition for her supporting roles in popular comedies such as “Up the Creek” and “Ghostbusters” in 1984. Runyon also landed a lead role as Gwendolyn Pierce in the sitcom “Charles in Charge” during its first season, and portrayed Cindy Brady in the television film “A Very Brady Christmas” in 1988. Her diverse resume also includes starring roles in “The In Crowd” and “18 Again!” as well as guest appearances on hit shows like “Murder, She Wrote” and “Beverly Hills, 90210.”

Born on April 1, 1960, in Chicago, Illinois, Runyon was the daughter of radio announcer Jim Runyon and actress Jane Roberts. In 1991, she married Todd Corman, a collegiate basketball coach and film/television producer. The couple shares two children, a son named Wyatt and a daughter named Bayley. In 2014, Runyon announced her semi-retirement from acting to pursue a career in teaching.

Runyon will be remembered for her infectious love of life and unwavering dedication to her family and friends. Her legacy lives on through the countless lives she touched with her talent and kindness. Rest in peace, Jennifer Runyon, as you watch over us with your beautiful smile from above.
