‘Marshals’ Renewed for Season 2 by CBS

“Marshals,” the latest addition to Taylor Sheridan‘s “Yellowstone” universe, has been renewed for a second season by CBS. The announcement comes just 12 days after the show’s premiere, showcasing the network’s confidence in the series. The premiere episode aired on March 1 and garnered impressive viewership numbers, leading to the quick renewal decision by CBS.

According to CBS, the premiere of “Marshals” attracted 20.6 million multiplatform viewers within seven days, including viewership on CBS and Paramount+. This made it the most-watched broadcast original series premiere without an NFL lead-in since 2017, specifically surpassing CBS’ “Young Sheldon.” The show’s success continued as it became the most-streamed episode of any CBS program ever on Paramount+.

Following the overwhelming response from viewers, CBS Entertainment president Amy Reisenbach expressed her excitement over the show’s performance. She praised the captivating storytelling, dynamic cast performances, and the strong connection to the ‘Yellowstone’ world, which contributed to the show’s popularity.

Starring Luke Grimes in his familiar role as Kayce Dutton from “Yellowstone,” “Marshals” follows his character as he joins a specialized team of U.S. Marshals in Montana. Grimes is joined by a talented ensemble cast including Logan Marshall-Green, Arielle Kebbel, Ash Santos, Tatanka Means, Brecken Merrill, Mo Brings Plenty, and Gil Birmingham.

Produced by Paramount TV Studios and 101 Studios, the show is helmed by executive producers such as Taylor Sheridan, David Glasser, and John Linson. The creative team behind “Marshals” aims to deliver bold character-driven storytelling that resonates with audiences, as evidenced by the show’s rapid success.
