Donald Trump Makes Surprise Appearance on “Saturday Night Live” Cold Open

Donald Trump made a dramatic entrance during the cold open of the latest episode of “Saturday Night Live,” interrupting a family’s road trip discussion about rising gas prices.

The sketch, which aired on March 14, featured Mikey Day, Ashley Padilla, Marcello Hernández, and Sarah Sherman as a family grappling with the increasing cost of gas. However, the scene took a comedic turn when James Austin Johnson appeared as Trump to deliver a monologue on the week’s events.

Addressing the audience, Johnson-as-Trump quipped, “You might remember me from such campaign promises as lower gas prices and no more wars. We’ll have to make promises because a promise is just a lie that hasn’t happened yet.” The former president then went on to humorously comment on the soaring gas prices and the stock market.

Trump also referenced actor Timothée Chalamet’s viral remarks about opera and ballet, comparing the situation to a battle with Iran. “We will win this war, because Iran is old and nobody likes them. Iran is like ballet and opera, and we’re Timothée Chalamet,” he joked.

Colin Jost, playing the role of Secretary of War Pete Hegseth, added to the satire by poking fun at the media’s portrayal of his handling of Iran. “I’ll tell you the same thing I say when people ask about our plans for Iran: I don’t know,” he quipped. Jost’s character also criticized the media for misrepresenting his actions.

Host Harry Styles, who also served as the musical guest for the episode, watched the chaos unfold in amusement.
