Zendaya recently commented on the AI-generated wedding photos of her and Tom Holland that gained attention after her stylist, Law Roach, claimed earlier this month that the couple had married.
The star of “Euphoria” and “Spider-Man” appeared on “Jimmy Kimmel Live” on Monday night, where the host addressed the marriage rumors. “I’m sure you know the internet has gone berserk with stories that you might actually be married to Tom,” Kimmel mentioned.
“Really?! I haven’t seen any of that!” Zendaya responded with sarcasm. Though she did not confirm the marriage, an engagement ring and wedding band sparkled on her left hand.
When Kimmel brought up the AI photos, Zendaya laughed and noted that “many people have been fooled by them.”
“I was just out and about in real life and people were like, ‘Oh my God, your wedding photos are gorgeous.’ And I was like, ‘Babe, they’re AI. They’re not real!’” she added.
The actor mentioned that “many people” she knows were also tricked by the AI images and were upset they didn’t receive an invitation. Zendaya then humorously shared a video of her and Holland’s alleged wedding, which was actually a clip from her new movie “The Drama” with Holland’s face superimposed over co-star Robert Pattinson. “A little something to just clear the confusion,” Zendaya said with a playful smile.
During the interview, Kimmel also inquired about the upcoming Spider-Man film “Brand New Day,” in which she stars alongside Holland. She revealed she’s seen “a good amount” of the movie, set for release on July 31, and “I feel very good about it.”
She continued: “It’s such a huge part of our story, obviously, and we grew up making those films. And it’s such a privilege to be able to do them. I know Tom cares so much about the role and doing it justice.”
When Kimmel praised Holland as the “best Spider-Man ever,” Zendaya blushed and responded: “I’m biased, but yes!”
