The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives star Mikayla Matthews seems to be responding to the controversy involving a prominent MomTok figure.
Following the announcement that production on season 5 of the popular Hulu reality series has been halted due to a domestic assault investigation involving cast member Taylor Frankie Paul, Mikayla appeared to acknowledge the situation through a social media post.
The incident unfolded when Mikayla teamed up with Mayci Neeley to address recent online speculation about their relationship status.
âHonestly one of the better rumors Iâve heard about myself the last couple days lolđđ„°đ,â Mikayla shared via Instagram on Monday, May 16. Mayci chimed in, âWho said it was a rumorđ.â
Mayciâs husband, Jacob Neeley, joined the conversation by commenting, âI donât think MomTok would survive this type of scandal.â
Mikayla, however, offered a different perspective.
â@jacob.neeley I think itâs the only redemption for MomTok right now,â she responded.
These remarks came after reports of an alleged domestic dispute between Taylor and her intermittent partner, Dakota Mortensen. A Draper City Police Department spokesperson confirmed to Us Weekly on Monday that a âdomestic assault investigationâ concerning the couple is underway.
A source also exclusively told Us that the Secret Lives of Mormon Wives cast is âhonestly terrified to film with Taylor right nowâ and shared that the women âhave made it clear they donât want to be around her because they see her as a major liability.â
Even though the insider mentioned that before the incident, the cast âbelieved Taylor was in a better placeâ after participating in The Bachelorette, her recent actions have caused concerns within the MomTok community.
âNow, many of them feel theyâve moved past the point of dealing with this kind of behavior and simply donât want to be put in that position again,â the source stated.
Despite Taylor and Dakota’s ongoing issues, many in the cast are determined to continue sharing their lives on screen.
In a recent video, Mikayla invited Mayci to participate in a lip-sync to a South Park scene where Kyle Broflovski asks Eric Cartman, âWhat the hell are you doing going around telling people that we are a gay couple?â
After watching the clip, costar Chase McWhorter remarked, âMomTok Heated Rivalry would break the internet.â
