Tiger Woods was arrested for DUI following a rollover crash near his Florida home. Although this marks his fourth car crash in the past two decades, he was not injured in the latest incident.
The Martin County Sheriff’s Office reported that the accident occurred around 2 p.m. ET on Friday, March 27, at 281 South Beach Road, close to Woods’ residence in West Palm Beach, Florida. The vehicle landed on the driver’s side as Woods attempted to avoid hitting a pickup truck.

After the crash, Woods agreed to a breathalyzer test which came back negative. However, he refused a urine test and was subsequently arrested for DUI. His mugshot was later shared by Pop Base on X.
Martin County Sheriff John Budensiek provided details of the incident during a public briefing.
“Our investigation revealed that the pressure cleaner truck was northbound on South Beach Road and was slowing down and pulling to turn into a driveway,” he said as per the Mirror. “The driver of the vehicle looked in his mirror and saw the Land Rover overtaking him at high speeds.”
“He saw it coming and tried to edge off to the side of the road but this is a small two-lane road and there was no shoulder for this vehicle to get off the road. As he was trying to do so, the Land Rover overtook him and at the last minute swerved to avoid a collision but clipped the trailer of the vehicle. The car rolled onto the driver’s door and the individual driving the Land Rover was able to climb out of the passenger’s door.”
Sheriff Budensiek noted that Woods showed signs of impairment, prompting DUI investigators to conduct a thorough roadside test. Woods was charged with DUI, property damage, and refusal to take a urine test. He was taken to Martin County Jail and later released on bail.
Tiger Woods’ history with accidents explored
This incident marks the third car accident involving Tiger Woods in the past seventeen years. In 2009, he crashed his car into a fire hydrant in Isleworth near Orlando following Thanksgiving, leading to a hospital visit but no charges.
Eight years later, in Jupiter, Florida, Woods passed out while driving on Military Trail and damaged his Mercedes. He was arrested after it was revealed he had taken prescription drugs and marijuana. Woods pleaded guilty, and the charges were dropped after he entered a diversion program.
The most severe accident occurred in 2021 when Woods’ SUV fell down an embankment and flipped. Although no substances were found in his system, Woods sustained serious leg injuries, keeping him away from golf for an extended period.
