Ratings for “Saturday Night Live U.K.” have declined by the second episode.
The live comedy show’s second airing, which began with a sketch involving Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor (previously known as Prince Andrew) and the Epstein scandal, attracted 205,000 viewers. This was a decrease from the 226,000 viewers who tuned in for the premiere episode.
Jamie Dornan, known for “Fifty Shades,” took over hosting from Tina Fey, with Wolf Alice as the musical act.
The show is broadcast in the U.K. at 10 p.m. on the Comcast-owned pay TV channel Sky One.
According to official BARB figures from overnights.tv, the audience share slightly declined from 3.2% in the first week to 3.17%.
On YouTube, the Prince Andrew sketch amassed 829,000 views in 14 hours. Additionally, a hostage sketch featuring Jamie Dornan and “SNL U.K.” cast member Annabel Marlow discussing her character’s relationship status gained nearly 206,000 views in 13 hours.
During the 10 p.m. slot on major free-to-air channels, BBC One’s news dominated with an average of 1.6 million viewers and a 20.95% share. “The Jonathan Ross Show” on ITV1 followed with 1.1 million viewers and a 16.59% share, while the 2022 Halle Berry sci-fi disaster film “Moonfall” on Channel 4 drew almost half of “SNL U.K.’s” audience figures with 126,000 viewers and a 2.96% share.
The top show on Saturday was the competition format “Gladiators,” which attracted an average of 3.3 million viewers and a 32.69% audience share. It aired much earlier at 5.45 p.m. on BBC One. Following this were “Britain’s Got Talent” on ITV1 with 3.2 million viewers and a 29.66% share, and “Michael McIntyre’s The Wheel” on BBC One with an average audience of 2.7 million and a 25.09% share.
“SNL U.K.,” executive produced by “Saturday Night Live” creator Lorne Michaels, premiered last weekend with a star-studded episode featuring Michael Cera, Graham Norton, Regé-Jean Page, and Nicola Coughlan.
The third episode, scheduled for April 4, will feature Riz Ahmed as host and Kasabian as the musical guest.
