Sunday, May 3, commemorates 19 years since the disappearance of a three-year-old girl. The child went missing from a resort in Portugal, where she and her two-year-old twin siblings were left asleep in an apartment while their parents, Kate and Gerry McCann, dined at a nearby restaurant.
Although the investigation is still active, Neville suggested that if the girl were still alive, she would likely have appeared in a photo posted on social media.
“In this day and age, you can’t help but be caught in images,” Neville remarked on the Daily Expresso podcast. “So, if you and I were out for a beer, and we have a selfie, we’ll catch the people in the background, won’t we?”
The detective noted that locating Madeleine should have been straightforward, given her distinctive eye mark and the recognizable pajamas she was wearing at the time of her disappearance.
