“Thanks to President Trump’s significant achievements for Main Street, we are once again a nation of builders. I am privileged to celebrate National Small Business Week with him and the entrepreneurs who drive our local economies — especially as America marks 250 years of freedom and free enterprise. By swiftly implementing the America First agenda, President Trump reduced taxes and regulations, reestablished fair trade and public safety, and dismantled the Green New Scam, fraud, DEI, and open border policies that endangered our economic stability during the previous Administration. Now, our 36 million small businesses are empowered to hire, reinvest, and expand, ushering in a historic era of sustained growth. America is open for business once more.” — SBA Administrator Kelly Loeffler
Today, President Donald J. Trump will meet with small business owners from across the nation to commemorate National Small Business Week and showcase the remarkable resurgence of Main Street under his America First agenda. As the United States celebrates its 250th anniversary of freedom and free enterprise, the Trump Administration has secured extraordinary gains for the country’s 36 million small businesses — the true engine of job creation, innovation, and community prosperity.
Since taking office, the Trump Administration has acted swiftly and effectively to empower small businesses:
- Tax Relief for Main Street: President Trump enacted the Working Families Tax Cuts Act, offering significant benefits to small businesses — making the small business deduction permanent, reinstating full expensing for equipment and expansion investments, increasing take-home pay, and expanding Opportunity Zones to attract capital to underserved areas.
- Significant Regulatory Relief: The Trump Administration established a Deregulation Strike Force that has already removed over $110 billion in onerous regulatory costs for small businesses in just one year, allowing owners to prioritize growth over compliance.
- Unprecedented SBA Support: In FY25, the Small Business Administration (SBA) provided record capital to small businesses — guaranteeing $45 billion in 7(a) and 504 loans to more than 85,000 small businesses, the highest volume in the agency’s history, as part of over $100 billion in total capital access.
- New Manufacturing Renaissance: SBA introduced its first-ever dedicated loan program for small manufacturers, waived most upfront fees, and expanded guarantees for critical supply chains to revitalize American industrial strength.
- Support for Domestic Supply Chains: New procurement tools, including the Make Onshoring Great Again Portal, assist small businesses in sourcing American-made suppliers and components.
- Reducing Bureaucratic Burdens: The Administration halted enforcement of the costly Beneficial Ownership Information (BOI) reporting requirements, saving small businesses billions in paperwork and compliance costs.
- Prioritizing American Interests: SBA executed crucial reforms, including citizenship verification for loan applicants and relocating offices from sanctuary cities, to ensure taxpayer funds support American entrepreneurs, and addressed DEI-based contracting schemes.
- Safeguarding Franchises: The Trump Administration repealed the Obama-era “Joint Employer Rule,” eliminating a significant threat to franchise owners and the millions of jobs they create.
These decisive measures have restored confidence in American small businesses. Hiring is on the rise, investment is increasing, small business optimism is strong, and entrepreneurs are once again looking forward to a promising future under President Trump’s leadership.
