Shelly Martinez, also known as Ariel, had a brief tenure with the Stamford-based wrestling organization. Despite her short stint, her exceptional character portrayal won over fans and contributed to her growth as a performer. Although her wrestling career may not have been as distinguished as some of her contemporaries, Martinez has maintained her presence in the industry and shared her WWE experiences on her YouTube channel.

In a discussion on Too Much Information, the 46-year-old former WWE performer recounted a disturbing fan encounter while talking about fan access in today’s wrestling scene. Martinez described how a fan, who had gradually become more involved through her online content, made an unsettling request for a private show. Although she refused, Martinez speculated that the fan’s comfort in making such a request might have stemmed from excessive access.

“This fan I had back in the early and mid-2000s started off with CelebVMs, which seemed nice enough. He then joined my secret society and ordered custom content. Suddenly, he asked, ‘Can you do a little peep show for me and watch me j**k off while you do it?’ I was taken aback by how we got from respectful CelebVM interactions to this. And he even offered to pay me 150 bucks,” Martinez explained.

In recent years, fan behavior has increasingly crossed the line in various instances, from demanding female wrestlers sign merchandise at airports to stalking superstars. These occurrences have surged, leaving promotions struggling to control or prevent them.

Last month, Indi Hartwell, a former WWE NXT Women’s and NXT Women’s Tag Team Champion, made a notable request on X (formerly Twitter). She urged fans not to attempt to kiss them during meet-and-greets or signings, as doing so invades their personal space and is unacceptable behavior.
