Reports suggest that a prominent WWE SmackDown star may have been released from the company, although this has not been officially confirmed yet.
Tama Tonga’s WWE Career in Limbo Despite Lack of Official Announcement
Thanks for the submission!
According to Bryan Alvarez on Wrestling Observer Live, although Tama Tonga’s release from WWE hasn’t been officially confirmed, it appears he may no longer be with the company. Alvarez noted that Jeff Cobb and Tonga Loa have also departed, with WWE TV narratives indicating the entire MFT faction was eliminated by Jacob Fatu, suggesting a storyline exit for these wrestlers.
“Currently, Jeff Cobb and Tonga Loa are no longer with WWE. While Tama Tonga hasn’t been officially released, his future is uncertain. On television, they mentioned that Jacob Fatu wiped out all of the MFTs, not just a couple of them, leaving only Talla Tonga.”
Alvarez further discussed that he had heard about Tama Tonga’s release on the same day other releases were made, but Tama Tonga’s name did not appear on any official list the following day. He expressed concern about potential upcoming releases, highlighting worries for Tama Tonga, Axiom, Nathan Frazer, Talla Tonga, Angel Garza, and Humberto Carrillo due to their current usage in WWE.
“I heard on Friday night that Tama Tonga was released, yet he wasn’t on the release list the next day. I’m unsure what this means. As a viewer of SmackDown, I’d be concerned about the futures of Tama Tonga, Talla Tonga, Axiom, Nathan Frazer, Angel, and Berto.”
Despite the initial reports of his release, nearly a week has passed without any confirmation. Tama Tonga hasn’t been seen in competition or active on social media since then.
