Hiroyuki Tetsuka has charted his own path throughout his career, and his training regimen reflects this independent approach.

Renowned for his formidable presence in his division, the Japanese fighter has built his reputation through a blend of natural-environment conditioning, raw athletic ability, and a carefully organized daily routine.

Unlike most fighters who follow a coach’s instructions, Tetsuka manages his own training regimen.

His self-directed system emphasizes fundamental techniques, adhering to his belief that mastering the basics yields better results than complex routines.

In a recent interview with ONE Championship, Hiroyuki Tetsuka detailed his training structure:

“It varies day to day. Generally, grappling practice around midday, eat, then striking at night. Roughly two sessions a day. Wake up, do strength training, then boxing or whatever in the evening. It shifts depending on the day of the week, but two sessions a day is the baseline.”

He added, “The basics — bench press, push-ups, pull-ups, deadlifts, squats. Really fundamental stuff. I design most of it myself. That said, once a week, I have a personal trainer who looks at my movement and body mechanics.”

Hiroyuki Tetsuka Ready for Another Standout Performance at The Inner Circle

Tetsuka’s distinctive approach has proven effective in the ONE Circle.

The 36-year-old fighter from Yamada Dojo-TGFC boasts six finishes from seven victories in the promotion, with an impressive 87 percent finishing rate.

His skills will be challenged at Bangkok’s Lumpinee Stadium during his upcoming appearance at The Inner Circle on Friday.

Hiroyuki Tetsuka is set to compete against ONE lightweight submission grappling world champion Kade Ruotolo in a lightweight MMA bout. Ruotolo aims to extend his perfect 3-0 record in the discipline with another win.
