This marks a notable shift for Cuban, who has been vocal about his opinions on Trump in the past.
“Look, personally, I don’t have a problem with the guy,” the billionaire businessman remarked on the Just B with Bethenny Frankel podcast in 2020. “However, in his professional role as the president, I think he’s an idiot. I never thought he was smart when talking to him.”
In 2016, during Trump’s initial term, Cuban expressed a similar view to CBS News, stating that Trump appeared to be “getting stupider” over time.
Reflecting on his interactions, the former owner of the Dallas Mavericks explained to Frankel that his perception of the “real” Trump evolved.
“As our conversations progressed, I questioned him about real estate, and it became evident he lacked understanding of the financial aspects,” Cuban shared on the podcast. “It was clear he hadn’t learned much, leading to our falling out.”
