Investigator Rachel Maxwell, who shared her discoveries on her Montecito Minimalist Instagram account and blog, claims the Canadian government is attempting to conceal the spending scandal. She highlights that nearly half of the funds—$30 million—were sourced from taxpayers, with the rest coming from private donors.

“That’s transformative money,” Maxwell remarked. “Would the veterans have been better served with $117,000 to acquire new prosthetics, modify their homes to be ADA [Americans with Disabilities Act] compliant, or purchase vehicles to accommodate their wheelchairs?”

Maxwell further noted that similar events for wounded veterans elsewhere are markedly less expensive. For instance, the U.S. Warrior Games operates on a $2 million annual budget, while a comparable event in Germany costs about $200,000 and involves half as many participants.

Royal commentator Hilary Fordwich raised concerns: “The question I have is—Does Prince Harry utilize the Invictus Games as a tax deduction, and is he profiting at the expense of veterans? If he isn’t, there should be complete transparency to prove he is not benefiting financially.”
