Antonio Cipriano discussed the creative changes made to the adaptation of Off Campus from its original book series, which were addressed before the show experienced a delay in his season.
“What’s so great about the show and the adaptation is that all the writers had so much freedom to add so much more to these characters. The books are so POV driven between whoever is in their love story and there was so much more to play with,” Cipriano exclusively told Us Weekly in May about the vision for the shakeups. “You’re rooting for all of these characters.”
Cipriano expressed enthusiasm about further developing his character.
“You get to know Logan as a brother, as a teammate and as a best friend before he finds that love,” he noted. “You get to follow him on this arc of finding himself and those days. I was really grateful to have that opportunity. Now we’ve met Grace so I’m excited for him to get to meet her in the show.”
Inspired by Elle Kennedy’s book, the series, which debuted in May, centers around a prestigious ice hockey team and the women in their lives. The initial season spotlighted the romance of Hannah (Ella Bright) and Garrett (Belmont Cameli), incorporating significant updates to key moments from their story in The Deal.
Simultaneously, the show introduced Allie (Mika Abdalla) and Dean (Stephen Kalyn) as potential future leads, although their story is originally part of the third book in the series. Prime Video has confirmed their storyline will be advanced, while Logan is slated to be the focus of the third season, along with his love interest Grace (India Fowler).
Cipriano mentioned to Us that certain modifications in Off Campus might provoke strong reactions. He specifically commented on a scene where Hannah kisses one of Garrett’s teammates in front of him, noting that while the book depicted this with Dean, the series chose Logan instead.

“I know that some people are going to be a little upset about that one change. But honestly, for the story that we’re trying to tell and where Logan has that kind of spark with Hannah, it’s only going to feed the story a little bit more for his attraction toward her,” Cipriano teased at the time. “How that moment meant nothing to Hannah but everything to Logan.”
Cipriano was hopeful about how the changes would play out.
“He appreciates her, and it’s all innocent and all love. I also think the addition of Jules and making him a middle child is really interesting,” he added. “It changes the dynamic completely. And I’m a middle child myself, so I feel like I knew exactly who this guy was.”
