The Trump administration seems to be guided by two main beliefs: that the American public is neither attentive nor intelligent.

During congressional testimony, Acting Attorney General Todd Blanche stated that the administration will not proceed with the planned weaponization fund. However, Donald Trump and his family are still granted lifetime immunity from prosecution for any tax-related offenses.

CNBC reported:

The Department of Justice plans to terminate a proposed $1.8 billion Anti-Weaponization compensation fund, originally intended to resolve a lawsuit by Donald Trump against the Internal Revenue Service, according to testimony by Acting Attorney General Todd Blanche to a House panel.

Despite this, Trump, his family, and associated business entities will continue to be shielded from tax audits and enforcement actions concerning tax returns filed before a recent out-of-court settlement of the lawsuit, Blanche explained.

The administration’s actions resemble past situations, such as the promise to release all files related to Epstein, only to deliver a mere 2% of them, despite legislative support for full disclosure.

The Trump White House has repeatedly engaged in such practices, leading to widespread skepticism about its commitment to keeping promises.

Democrats remain unconvinced and are determined to push for a vote to dismantle the entire scheme.
