With the Worldwide Developers Conference (WWDC) 2026 on the horizon, anticipation is mounting over Apple’s upcoming announcements. From a comprehensive revamp of Siri to advancements in Apple Intelligence, this year’s event promises exciting developments.
The conference will commence on Monday at 10 a.m. PT/1 p.m. ET, and eager viewers can watch the live stream through the Apple Developer app, Apple’s website, and the Apple Developer YouTube channel.
Siri’s Big AI Overhaul
One of the most eagerly awaited announcements is a significant AI enhancement for Siri, transforming it into a more conversational assistant. This upgrade will enable Siri to understand context better, manage multi-step tasks, and interact naturally across various apps and services, with the help of Google’s Gemini technology.
Furthermore, Bloomberg reports suggest that a standalone Siri app is in the works, designed to rival advanced AI chatbots like ChatGPT, Claude, and Gemini. Apple might also introduce a feature similar to messaging apps, allowing users to set timers for deleting conversations automatically after 30 days, a year, or retaining them indefinitely.
AI Agent App Store
As reported by The Information, Apple plans to integrate AI agents into the app store. Although details are limited, these agents will enable users to delegate tasks such as booking reservations, managing daily activities, editing documents, or controlling smart home devices.
Camera and Photos Apps
A new “Visual Intelligence” section is expected to be launched within the Camera app, replacing the former Visual Intelligence feature in the Camera Control button. This update will add a dedicated Siri mode alongside options like Photo, Video, Portrait, and Panorama, utilizing Google Image Search to accurately identify objects captured by users.
Additionally, the Photos app is set for exciting enhancements powered by Apple Intelligence, including intelligent scene recommendations for photo optimization, automatic object removal for cleaner images, and an innovative AI photo editing feature that allows users to request edits using natural language, as well as new productivity functionalities in visionOS.
Image Playground Updates
The Image Playground app is set for an upgrade, promising higher-quality image generation, more artistic styles, improved character consistency, and enhanced editing controls. The interface will be simplified, with fewer controls and a “describe a change” option for editing.
Moreover, a suggested Genmoji feature might propose custom emojis based on users’ media and text interactions, and users could generate AI wallpapers reflecting various themes and moods.
Apple Wallet
Exciting updates are rumored for the Wallet app, particularly a bill-splitting feature to simplify sharing expenses among friends or family. Users will be able to photograph a receipt and generate payment requests effortlessly to different parties.
Additionally, the Wallet app will include a “Create a Pass” option, allowing users to generate digital passes from physical items like movie tickets, concert passes, or gym membership cards.
MacOS, iPadOS, visionOS, watchOS, and tvOS Updates
Apple is expected to enhance its AI-powered Siri experience across its devices, along with likely incorporating more AI features and stability improvements.
