Looking for a business executive to oversee one of the country’s most prominent news brands. Candidates should be prepared for extended hours, a flexible schedule, and working with an editorial leader known for stirring up controversy.
Paramount Skydance is actively seeking a business executive to collaborate with Bari Weiss, the editor in chief of CBS News. Weiss has been in the spotlight and dealing with a challenging staff environment since she dismissed the senior management of “60 Minutes” in late May, along with three of its correspondents.
According to four individuals familiar with parts of the discussions, the talks have been ongoing for weeks, with one person noting Weiss’s involvement. The prospective executive, if selected, is unlikely to have more editorial or creative authority than Weiss, which has deterred some candidates who have participated in the discussions.
Paramount and CBS News have not made any executives available for comment. Puck and Axios have previously covered aspects of these discussions.
