Skyline Media, a sales agent based in Vietnam, has formed a partnership with streaming service Galaxy Play to introduce Galaxy Play Originals to the international market for the first time. Under this collaboration, Skyline Media will act as the exclusive international sales agent for over 20 original miniseries.

Announced at the fourth Danang Asian Film Festival during the DANAFF Industry Days, this deal aims to connect Vietnamese content creators with international buyers. It provides Skyline Media with access to premium scripted miniseries, complementing its current lineup of Vietnamese and international films, and enables Galaxy Play to expand its reach beyond Vietnam’s local streaming audience.

The initial collection includes titles spanning crime, action, thriller, horror, romance, and drama genres. Leading the lineup is “Brothers for Life,” a gangster action crime saga from Galaxy Play that has enjoyed four seasons and earned accolades at the Asia-Pacific Broadcasting+ Awards and the Asian Academy Creative Awards. Other notable titles include “Thousand Dollar Baby,” a high-end escort drama, and “Sugar Daddy vs. Sugar Baby,” a drama exploring Vietnam’s underground sugar dating scene.

Additional titles in the lineup are “Container 39,” inspired by the Essex lorry tragedy involving 39 Vietnamese migrants, and “Eve of the Crime,” a thriller based on a true murder case in a remote Vietnamese mountain town, directed by Ham Tran, known for “Devil’s Diner” and “Hijacked.”

“This partnership is a significant step for Skyline Media as we expand from feature films into premium Vietnamese miniseries,” stated Hang Trinh, CEO of Skyline Media. “Serialized storytelling is gaining popularity worldwide, and we believe Vietnamese creators have stories that deserve international recognition. Together with Galaxy Play, we aim to introduce a new wave of premium series to global audiences and create more opportunities for Vietnamese IP to cross borders.”

Anh Pham, head of production at Galaxy Play, views the deal as a means to broaden the platform’s reach beyond its domestic market.

“Galaxy Play Originals were crafted to deliver high-quality Vietnamese stories that resonate with local audiences,” stated Anh Pham, head of production at Galaxy Play. “This partnership with Skyline Media allows these stories to reach international broadcasters and streaming platforms, connecting Vietnamese narratives with global audiences.”

Galaxy Play serves over two million paying users and boasts Vietnam’s largest premium library of local films and series, alongside major Hollywood releases. The platform offers an extensive 4K catalog with Dolby 5.1 surround sound and has received multiple Asia-Pacific awards for its scripted originals.

Skyline Media distributes more than 800 foreign films and represents over 150 Vietnamese and Southeast Asian titles as a sales agent, with a reach extending to over 50 countries and territories through more than 130 partnerships.
