Josh Lucas has been confirmed to join Nicole Kidman and Elle Fanning in the legal drama series “Discretion,” as reported by Variety.
The series was initially announced with a direct-to-series order at Paramount+ in October 2025. Adapted from the short story by Chandler Baker, it will consist of eight episodes, with production expected to start later this year.
According to the series description, “Lenny (Fanning), a summer associate at a prestigious Dallas law firm, uncovers a network of NDAs concealing a dark truth. Upon realizing she signed the same agreement, her findings place her at odds with the firm’s most influential female partner, Sharon (Kidman), disrupting their mentor-protégé relationship and posing the question: who has the right to keep secrets, and at what cost?”
Lucas will portray Greg, described as “a lawyer and the husband of Kidman’s formidable corporate law partner at the firm, caught in a dark web of NDAs.”
Lucas’ recent television work includes portraying a young John Dutton in the popular Paramount Network series “Yellowstone” and starring in the Apple TV dramedy “Palm Royale.” Earlier, he was featured in series like “The Firm” and “Mysteries of Laura.” Lucas is well-known for his film roles in “Ford v. Ferrari,” “The Lincoln Lawyer,” “Sweet Home Alabama,” “American Psycho,” among others.
He is represented by WME and Liebman Entertainment.
Chandler Baker is both writing and executive producing the series, with Kidman and Fanning also serving as executive producers alongside starring. Susannah Grant joins as an executive producer. Kidman is producing through Blossom Films with Per Saari, while Fanning, her sister Dakota Fanning, and Brittany Kahan Ward are producing for Lewellen Pictures. Jordan Cerf of Linden Entertainment and Joe Hipps of Cut To are also executive producers. The production is handled by A24 for Paramount.
