Police have identified the suspect wanted for the fatal hit-and-run incident that took the life of 36-year-old Amanda Servedio in Astoria, Queens. The suspect, Bekim Fiseku, 53, is wanted for homicide after mowing down Servedio with his truck while fleeing from police last month.

The tragic incident occurred on the night of October 22 at the intersection of 34th Avenue and 37th Street, just two blocks from Servedio’s home. Surveillance footage captured the moment a speeding Dodge Ram struck the passing cyclist, throwing her from her bike into a parked BMW. Servedio was rushed to Elmhurst Hospital, where she succumbed to her injuries.

Prior to the hit-and-run, police were responding to a burglary report in Dutch Kills when they spotted the suspect’s pickup truck with a covered rear license plate. The officers began following the vehicle, believing the occupants to be involved in the burglary. However, the driver of the truck refused to stop and sped off, leading to the fatal crash.

Following the incident, the truck was found abandoned near Newtown Road and 47th Street. Meanwhile, Servedio’s devastated mother was seen mourning outside their apartment building, being comforted by friends and neighbors.

Amanda Servedio, originally from Arkansas, worked as a senior tax accountant in Midtown Manhattan and had been living alone in Astoria for some time. Described as a dedicated cyclist, she regularly tracked her bike rides on the Strava app, often embarking on treks as long as 26 miles.

Neighbors remembered Servedio as a passionate cyclist who participated in organized rides and was frequently seen carrying her bike on her shoulder after long excursions. The community mourned the loss of a vibrant individual who was known for her love of cycling and dedication to fitness.
