Bijan Robinson and Jahmyr Gibbs are among the top running backs in the NFL, currently facing uncertainties regarding their contracts as they approach training camp.
NFL insider Adam Schefter discussed these contract issues on the “Pat McAfee Show” on Monday.

“I still think there’s obviously a lot of unresolved contractual issues,” said Schefter.

“There are still going to be big deals that get done this summer. Jahmyr Gibbs, Bijan Robinson. I would think both those deals at some point here should get done.

“Baker Mayfield, Vita Vea in Tampa. Like, there’s always a push on contracts too. So like it just there’s a certain rhythm. Things happen. Players retire. Contracts get resolved. Injuries like last week, Nick Scouten, the Panthers linebacker, the second round draft pick goes down with the torn ACL.
“That first practice of the whole summer-that’s awful, awful.”
Bijan Robinson and Jahmyr Gibbs are in line for substantial contract extensions. As perennial Pro Bowlers, they are anticipated to earn up to $25 million annually. Currently, they remain on their original four-year rookie deals.
Robinson’s contract is valued at $19.17 million over four years, with a $10.94 million signing bonus. Similarly, Gibbs’ contract is structured the same way.

The Atlanta Falcons chose Bijan Robinson with the eighth overall pick in the 2023 draft, following his impressive three-year tenure with the Texas Longhorns.
Robinson has excelled in the professional arena, earning two Pro Bowl selections, one first-team All-Pro honor, and a second-team All-Pro nod. His 2,298 scrimmage yards in 2025 set a new record for the Atlanta Falcons.
The Detroit Lions selected Jahmyr Gibbs as the 12th pick in the 2023 draft. Gibbs had an outstanding three-year college career with both the Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets and the Alabama Crimson Tide.
Gibbs has become a vital component of Dan Campbell’s offensive strategies. He has been named to the Pro Bowl three times, led in rushing touchdowns once, and was part of the PFWA All-Rookie Team.
As Robinson and Gibbs aim to become the highest-paid running backs in the league, they will be crucial to the Falcons’ and Lions’ playoff aspirations in 2026.
