Charlie Kirk's 1-year-old plea for MLB Salary Cap & Floor make a comeback after Dodgers' Tarik Skubal acquisition

Following Skubal’s high-profile move to LA, fans revisited an old tweet by the late political activist Charlie Kirk, who expressed a similar view in July 2025.

“It’s time for MLB to institute a salary cap and floor. The current system is ridiculous and ruining baseball,” Kirk posted in 2025.

Shortly after his move to LA, Tarik Skubal spoke with The Athletic’s Fabian Ardaya, sharing his initial impressions and future goals.

“Yeah, initial reactions, there was a lot of emotion, right? You know, I spent eight years with the Detroit Tigers. That place will always be special to me no matter what, but, in the same breath, you know I’m excited to be here,” Skubal said. “To compete with these guys.

“When you watch them from across the way or just to see them do their thing on TV, you just have a lot of respect. They play the game the right way. The entire focus of this organization is on winning championships. That’s my entire focus playing baseball. So we’re very much aligned. I’m ready to go out there and compete and give this organization and city everything that I’ve got.”
