Colorado Representative Lauren Boebert‘s son, Tyler Boebert, has been arrested on several felony charges for allegedly exploiting a child sexually.
According to Muckrakers Today, a warrant was issued for 21-year-old Tyler on Thursday, August 6. He was arrested in Garfield County, Colorado, on Sunday, August 9.
Tyler faces five felony charges in connection with an alleged incident from January 2024, when he was 18. The counts include child sexual exploitation to induce or entice, possession with intent, exploitation involving video, and two charges of contributing to the delinquency of a minor, according to People.
People also reported that Tyler’s bond was set at $10,000 on August 7. He was released two days later, and the warrant was subsequently canceled. Tyler is scheduled to appear in court next on Wednesday, August 19.
Lauren, aged 39, discussed her son’s legal troubles in a statement to the Denver Post on Monday, August 10.
“I love my son,” the congresswoman said to the outlet. “We take these allegations very seriously and pray for everyone affected during this challenging time.”
This incident is not Tyler’s first encounter with the law. He was previously arrested in February 2024 in connection with multiple vehicle trespasses and thefts. Tyler and his friends were accused of breaking into cars and stealing debit cards, gift cards, and cash.
Initially facing 22 felony and misdemeanor charges, Tyler eventually pleaded guilty to a single count of attempted identity theft.
Tyler is the oldest son of Lauren and her ex-husband, Jayson Boebert. The pair, who were married from 2007 to 2023, also have three other sons: Brody, Kaydon, and Roman.
Lauren became pregnant with Tyler when she was 18 and has openly shared how she left school to focus on motherhood.

Lauren reflected on her early days of motherhood in a 2020 interview with The Durango Herald, saying, “I was a brand-new mom, and I had to make hard decisions on successfully raising my child, or getting to high school biology class. And I chose to take care of my child … I was starting my family and had different priorities.”
Tyler also experienced early parenthood. He and his then-girlfriend welcomed a son named Josiah in April 2023. Before Josiah’s birth, Lauren announced publicly at the Conservative Political Action Conference (CPAC) Women’s Breakfast that she would become a grandmother at 36.
“I’m going to tell you all for the first time in a public setting, that not only am I a mom of four boys, but come April, I will be a [grandmother] to a brand-new grandson,” she said during her award acceptance.
