The second season of “Saturday Night Live U.K.” is set to premiere on Sept. 12 on Sky and Now, the broadcaster has announced. This new season follows the debut earlier this year and will feature six new episodes.
A trailer has been released for the upcoming season, with more episodes planned for early 2027 following the initial six-episode schedule. As with the first season, each episode will showcase a celebrity host paired with a musical guest, alongside topical sketches, live musical performances, and a British twist on “Weekend Update.”
Audience tickets will be available through a ballot starting Aug. 14.
The confirmed air dates for the six episodes are Sept. 12, Sept. 19, Sept. 26, Oct. 10, Oct. 17, and Oct. 24.
All 11 cast members from the first season will be returning: Hammed Animashaun, Ayoade Bamgboye, Larry Dean, Celeste Dring, George Fouracres, Ania Magliano, Annabel Marlow, Al Nash, Jack Shep, Emma Sidi, and Paddy Young.
Several production changes are in store for the new season. Laura Claxton has been promoted to co-head writer alongside Jonno Johnson, who continues as head writer. Director Liz Clare returns for another season, while Heather MacVean joins as the costume designer. Sinead Oldnall will manage onscreen talent for the U.K. production.
The series is produced by Universal Television Alternative Studio’s U.K. division and Broadway Video for Sky and Now, with Lorne Michaels as executive producer and James Longman overseeing production. Helen Kruger Bratt leads UTAS U.K. Productions as managing director, while Andy Charles Smith produces for the label, with Shanna Baynard overseeing production and Hannah Peddar as production executive.
Phil Edgar-Jones, Sky’s executive director of unscripted originals, commissioned the series. Alex Moody, the broadcaster’s head of comedy commissioning, is managing the second-season order for Sky Studios CEO and chief content officer Cecile Frot-Coutaz.
