Quick Settings on Android devices are already quite customizable, primarily in terms of selecting tiles and arranging their order. However, the fundamental layout of the menu has always been fixed.
According to 9to5Google, testers using the Android 17 QPR2 Beta 3 have discovered a new feature that allows the reorganization of the menu’s three primary sections.
If this feature is included in the final version, it would offer unprecedented customization options for Pixel phones, making Quick Settings more user-friendly in daily scenarios.
Three sections can be rearranged
The new feature allows you to rearrange three critical components of the expanded Quick Settings:
- Brightness slider
- Quick Settings tiles
- Permanent media player
These components can be moved around using a drag-and-drop method, giving rise to six possible configurations.
For instance, if you often manage music or podcasts, you can position the media player at the top. Alternatively, some might prefer to have the Quick Settings or the brightness slider in a more prominent spot.
