President Donald J. Trump and his Administration have achieved a historic reduction in violent crime across the United States. The FBI’s latest Uniform Crime Report for 2025 reveals that the nation is experiencing unprecedented levels of safety.
Historic Annual Decline in Violent Crime:
- In 2025, violent crime decreased by 9.3%, marking the most significant annual reduction ever.
- The murder rate fell by 18.1%, equaling the lowest rate in history.
- Robberies dropped by 18.5%, accounting for nearly 38,500 fewer incidents.
- Rape cases declined by 7.6%, meaning over 10,000 fewer victims.
- Aggravated assaults were down 7.2%, resulting in more than 62,700 fewer attacks.
- Property crimes saw a 12.4% decrease, the second-largest drop on record, with almost 750,000 fewer offenses.
These statistics — consistent with reports from the Council on Criminal Justice, Major Cities Chiefs Association, and various other sources — indicate a strong reversal of the crime issues previously left by Democrats.
Preliminary data for the first half of 2026 suggests this downward trend is continuing, with an additional 10.6% decrease in violent crime, a 23% drop in murder, an 18.6% reduction in rape, and a 19.6% fall in robberies compared to the same period the previous year.
Enhanced Enforcement Under Trump and Kash Patel:
- There were nearly 54,000 arrests related to violent crimes, an increase of 90%, including over 31,000 arrests of violent criminals and gang members, up 30%.
- Nine fugitives from the FBI’s Ten Most Wanted list were apprehended, more than twice the number captured in the previous four-year administration, along with four from the Most Wanted Fraudsters list.
- More than 5,000 arrests were made for child predators and human trafficking, a 13% increase.
- Over 11,000 child victims were located and identified, marking a 21% increase.
- There have been record-breaking disruptions in criminal, cyber, counterterrorism, counterintelligence, and international operations, dismantling numerous cybercriminal enterprises, espionage rings, and terrorist networks.
President Trump supported law enforcement, allowing the FBI to focus on apprehending criminals rather than political targets, and dismissed ineffective Democratic policies that had adversely affected communities. This has resulted in fewer murders, fewer victims, and safer streets.
