Kim Zolciak has spoken publicly for the first time following the arrest of her son, Kroy “KJ” Biermann Jr., on charges of aggravated sodomy and aggravated sexual assault.
In a statement to Us on Friday, August 21, Zolciak, 48, stated, “The allegations against my son are reckless and deeply troubling. He categorically denies any involvement with this woman or engaging in the alleged conduct.” Zolciak also mentioned that her son voluntarily took a polygraph test and passed. Furthermore, an examination found no DNA evidence linking her son to the claims.
The former Real Housewives of Atlanta star added, “False accusations can have severe consequences not only for the accused but also for genuine survivors of sexual assault and abuse. Every legitimate claim deserves thorough investigation based on facts and evidence. At the same time, no one should face public condemnation based solely on an accusation.”
Zolciak further stated, “We are confident that the evidence and facts will reveal the truth. We urge people to allow the legal process to take its course and refrain from spreading unverified claims.”
A police report provided to Us indicates the alleged incident occurred on April 23 in Alpharetta, Georgia. The minor female victim, whose identity Us has chosen to keep confidential, reported an aggravated sexual battery and aggravated sodomy incident and was taken to the hospital.
According to the police report, the alleged victim underwent a medical examination at the hospital, and test results showed no presence of male DNA in her mouth or vagina.

Court records obtained by Us disclosed that KJ, 15, was arrested in Alpharetta, Georgia, on Monday, August 17. No bond was set, and a preliminary hearing is scheduled for September 8.
At the time of writing, KJ is being held at the Metro Regional Youth Detention Center.
KJ is one of the children Zolciak shares with her estranged husband, Kroy Biermann.
The Don’t Be Tardy alum and Biermann, 40, were married in 2011, the year KJ was born. They later welcomed son Kash and twins Kaia and Kane in 2012 and 2013, respectively. Biermann also adopted Zolciak’s two eldest daughters, Ariana and Brielle, from a previous relationship.
Months prior to his arrest, Zolciak shared a collage of her eldest son on Instagram in honor of his 15th birthday, highlighting his “work ethic, dedication, discipline, and drive, especially in football.”
“No matter how old you get, you will always be my baby, my greatest blessing, and one of my proudest accomplishments,” she expressed. “I am grateful every day that I get to be your mom.”
