“One Battle After Another” and “Marty Supreme” achieved top recognition at the Location Managers Guild International (LMGI) Awards.
The LMGI Awards ceremony took place on Saturday evening, celebrating the exceptional use of filming locations in movies, television, commercials, film commissions, and special achievement categories.
Paul Thomas Anderson’s “One Battle After Another” was honored for outstanding locations in a contemporary feature film. The film utilized locations across California’s Humboldt County, Sacramento, Stockton, Eureka, Arcata, San Diego, and El Paso in Texas. Josh Safdie’s “Marty Supreme” received the award for outstanding locations in a period feature film, with scenes filmed in New York City, greater New York, the Hudson Valley, New Jersey, and Tokyo.
“Pluribus,” “Fallout,” and “Black Rabbit” were recognized in television categories. “Pluribus,” filmed in Albuquerque, New Mexico, Montana, Nevada, and Spain, won for outstanding locations in a contemporary television series. “Fallout,” which was shot in California’s Dumont Dunes, Mojave Desert, Antelope Valley, and Santa Clarita, earned the award for outstanding locations in a period television series. “Black Rabbit,” filmed in various locations around New York City, including Brooklyn and Manhattan, won for outstanding locations in a TV anthology, movie, or limited series.
Vince Gilligan, a four-time Emmy-winning director and writer, was honored with the Eva Monley Award for his commitment to storytelling through locations, highlighted by his recent work on “Pluribus.”
Mike Fantasia, who has managed locations for films such as “Top Gun: Maverick,” “Killers of the Flower Moon,” and “Spider-Man: Homecoming,” received the Lifetime Achievement Award.
“Celebrating our LMGI winners was a truly remarkable experience,” said Nancy Haecker, LMGI Awards Chair. “The ceremony was a powerful celebration of achievement, filled with inspiring moments and well-deserved recognition, beautifully capped by the genius of Vince Gilligan.
