Chuck Woolery, the beloved game show host known for his roles on “Wheel of Fortune,” “Love Connection,” and “Scrabble,” has passed away at the age of 83. Woolery, who later became a conservative podcaster, was a familiar face on television for decades.

Mark Young, Woolery’s podcast co-host, confirmed his passing in an email, stating that Woolery died at his home in Texas with his wife by his side. Young described Woolery as a dear friend and a man of faith.

Woolery’s career in television began in the 1970s, and he quickly rose to fame as the host of popular game shows like “Love Connection” and “Scrabble.” His charm, wit, and signature catchphrases endeared him to audiences across the country.

Aside from his game show success, Woolery also dabbled in music, forming a rock duo called The Avant-Garde in the late 1960s. The duo scored a Top 40 hit with “Naturally Stoned,” showcasing Woolery’s musical talents.

In his later years, Woolery transitioned to podcasting and became known for his conservative views. He openly supported Donald Trump and often shared controversial opinions on social media. However, his most infamous moment came during the COVID-19 pandemic when he initially downplayed the severity of the virus before later acknowledging its impact.

Despite his polarizing views, Woolery leaves behind a legacy of entertainment and a dedicated fan base. He is survived by his wife and children.
