Pete Davidson Takes Break from Hollywood to Focus on Mental Health and Wellness

Pete Davidson, known for his time on “Saturday Night Live,” recently made headlines for stepping away from the limelight to focus on his mental health and well-being. The 31-year-old comedian, who left the iconic sketch comedy show in 2022 after eight seasons, has found peace in his new role as the creative director of the sock brand Doublesoul.

In a candid interview with W Magazine, Davidson opened up about his decision to take a break from Hollywood, citing the negative media attention he received during his high-profile relationships with celebrities like Ariana Grande and Kim Kardashian. He expressed gratitude for the opportunity to reevaluate his life and prioritize his mental health.

“I got hit on the face with the Hollywood shovel,” Davidson said. “It was a long time coming, and I needed it. I’m very happy where I am right now, mentally.”

Davidson emphasized his desire to be recognized for his work rather than his personal life, stating that he wants to be known for his contributions in film, stand-up comedy, charity, or business endeavors. He reflected on the pressure he felt early in his career to say yes to every opportunity, but has since matured and learned to prioritize his own well-being.

“The media takes a handful of celebs every couple of years, and they just destroy them,” Davidson remarked. “For some reason, I’m one of the people they chose to go after. It’s actually, in a way, a blessing, because it allowed me to take a step back and evaluate things. What do you want to be? Who are you?”

Recently, Davidson made the decision to cancel a series of stand-up shows scheduled for July and instead checked himself into a wellness facility. This move underscores his commitment to prioritizing his mental health and taking the necessary steps to ensure his well-being.

As Davidson continues to focus on his personal growth and mental wellness, fans can expect to see him return to the spotlight with a renewed sense of purpose and clarity. Through his journey of self-discovery and introspection, Davidson is setting an example of the importance of prioritizing mental health in the fast-paced world of Hollywood.
