Amazon MGM Studios is gearing up for the launch of a new drama series set in the adrenaline-fueled world of Formula One racing. Titled “One,” the show has already attracted the attention of actress Felicity Jones, who is not only set to star in the series but also executive produce it.
According to reports from Variety, “One” is currently in development for Amazon Prime Video, although an official order has not been confirmed yet. The series will mark Formula 1’s first officially sanctioned scripted show and promises to delve into the high-stakes world of a struggling family-owned racing team, led by Jones’ character. As the team faces fierce competition, changing rivals, and multimillion-dollar risks, viewers can expect a thrilling and intense ride.
Produced by Bedrock Entertainment, a joint venture established in 2020 by industry veterans Tony To and Dan Sackheim, along with ITV Studios America, “One” has enlisted the talents of Mark Fergus and Hawk Ostby as writers and executive producers. Fergus and Ostby, known for their work on the critically acclaimed film “Children of Men,” bring a wealth of experience to the project.
Tony To will serve as an executive producer for Bedrock Entertainment, alongside Dan Sackheim and Philippe Maigret, the president and managing director of ITV Studios America. Additionally, Felicity Jones will also be involved in the production process through her production company, Piecrust Pictures, which she runs with her brother Alexander Jones. Piecrust Pictures recently signed on for the graphic novel adaptation “100 Nights of Hero,” featuring an ensemble cast including Nicholas Galitzine, Charli XCX, and Richard E. Grant.
The news of Amazon MGM developing “One” comes at a busy time for Felicity Jones, who recently received a Golden Globes nomination for her work in “The Brutalist.” With upcoming projects like the feature films “Night Train” and “Oh. What. Fun.,” Jones is poised to continue making her mark in the entertainment industry.
As fans eagerly await further updates on “One,” it’s clear that this series is shaping up to be a must-watch for Formula One enthusiasts and drama lovers alike. Stay tuned for more exciting developments as the show races towards its premiere on Amazon Prime Video.
