Taylor Kitsch has expressed interest in returning for the upcoming “Friday Night Lights” reboot, although he is not committing to a long-term role. In a recent interview on Sirius XM’s “The Spotlight with Jessica Shaw,” Kitsch revealed that he has been approached to reprise his role for the reboot. While he is open to the idea of making a cameo appearance, he made it clear that he does not want to lead the reboot or be heavily involved in the new series.

“I’m always flattered. Never say never. But I would come in and maybe do something for an episode,” Kitsch stated. “I don’t want to go and do the whole thing. I’d go and have fun, but I don’t want to lead a ‘FNL’ or a reboot or anything.”

Kitsch also discussed the possibility of returning as his iconic character, Tim Riggins, or creating a new role for himself in the reboot. He acknowledged that fans may have a hard time seeing him as anyone other than Riggins, especially in the Texas football setting of the show. He jokingly suggested playing an opposing team’s coach for a brief appearance on screen.

The “Friday Night Lights” reboot, which was announced in November, is currently in development at NBCUniversal and will premiere on Peacock. The show’s official logline teases a storyline following a high school football team and their interim coach as they strive for a Texas High School State Championship in the aftermath of a devastating hurricane.

Fans of the original series can look forward to seeing familiar faces like Taylor Kitsch potentially making a return in some capacity. Stay tuned for more updates on the “Friday Night Lights” reboot as it continues to develop.
