Gaza Celebrates Ceasefire Deal Between Hamas and Israel

Palestinians in Gaza took to the streets to celebrate the ceasefire deal between Hamas and Israel, which came into effect after a three-hour delay on Sunday. Thousands of people emerged from hiding to assess the damage to their homes, while others visited the graves of loved ones.

In Khan Younis, armed Hamas fighters paraded through the streets as crowds cheered and chanted in support. Hamas police officers, dressed in blue uniforms, were also seen patrolling the area after months of avoiding Israeli airstrikes.

Palestinians Return Home

In Gaza City, where intense battles took place, residents navigated through rubble and debris, waving Palestinian flags and capturing the scenes on their phones. People who had evacuated their homes during the conflict welcomed the ceasefire as a chance to rebuild.

“We are in pain, deep pain. It is time to come together and rebuild,” said Gaza City resident Ahmed Abu Ayham. The ceasefire brought relief but also highlighted the destruction and loss suffered during the conflict.

Aid Enters Gaza After Months

Trucks carrying fuel and aid supplies entered Gaza following the ceasefire, with plans for regular aid deliveries to prevent famine in the region. The UN and humanitarian partners worked to distribute aid across Gaza to address urgent needs.

Israel-Hamas Ceasefire

The ceasefire deal, though delayed, brought hope to Gaza’s population after a devastating war that resulted in significant casualties and destruction. The agreement could mark the beginning of peace in the region after months of conflict.
