Miami Dolphins wide receiver Tyreek Hill’s agent, Drew Rosenhaus, has put an end to the trade speculation surrounding his client. This announcement comes in the wake of Hill’s controversial exit during the Dolphins’ season-ending loss to the New York Jets.

Hill, an eight-time Pro Bowl selection, raised eyebrows when he removed himself from the game on Sunday. This move fueled rumors that he might be seeking a trade after a disappointing season where he recorded career-low numbers with 81 receptions for 959 yards.

During an appearance on The Pat McAfee Show on January 9, 2025, Rosenhaus shed light on undisclosed details regarding Hill’s dedication to the Dolphins. He revealed that Hill had actually broken his wrist during a scrimmage against the Commanders in Training Camp but was determined to play through the injury. Rosenhaus emphasized that Hill is fully committed to the Dolphins and had a positive meeting with Dolphins executives Chris Grier and Mike McDaniel.

The impact of the wrist injury on Hill’s performance was evident as he posted his lowest receiving yards in a full season since his rookie year in 2016 with the Kansas City Chiefs. This decline came after two consecutive 1,700-yard seasons in Miami.

Addressing Hill’s emotional outburst after the game, Rosenhaus mentioned that the Dolphins players understand that Hill is a fierce competitor and none of his teammates have any complaints about him.

Dolphins General Manager Chris Grier confirmed that Hill has not requested a trade. Head coach Mike McDaniel also met with Hill for an hour to address his premature exit from the game, making it clear that such behavior will not be tolerated in the future.

The pressure on Hill has been mounting since he signed a lucrative three-year, $90 million contract extension before the 2024 season. The deal includes $59 million in guaranteed money and carries substantial salary cap implications, with $28.7 million in 2025 and $51.9 million in 2026.

Putting Hill’s struggles into context, quarterback Tua Tagovailoa faced limited action due to injuries, leaving Hill to work with backup quarterbacks Tyler Huntley and Skylar Thompson for a significant portion of the season.

Overall, the situation surrounding Tyreek Hill and the Dolphins underscores the challenges faced by both the player and the team. Despite the adversity, Hill remains committed to the Dolphins and is focused on contributing to their success in the upcoming seasons.
