The Nubia Redmagic Nova is a new gaming tablet from the Redmagic brand, known for its gaming smartphones. The Nova offers excellent performance and a compact, sturdy design, making it a great choice for Android gamers. However, there are some drawbacks to consider, such as limited software support and average battery life.

Design & Build:
The Nova features a compact design with an aluminium chassis and a fingerprint sensor on the power button. The tablet is lightweight and easy to hold, making it comfortable for long gaming sessions. The back of the device includes a transparent cover that showcases the internal cooling system and LED lights. Accessories like a magnetic keyboard, stylus, and gamepad are sold separately.

Screen & Speakers:
The Nova sports a 10.9-inch IPS display with a high 144Hz refresh rate, ideal for smooth gaming. The screen offers a high resolution and responsive touch sampling rates. The quad speakers provide quality sound with DTS-X Ultra Sound and 3D audio support, although their positioning may be covered when holding the tablet.

Specs & Performance:
Powered by a Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 Leading Version processor, the Nova delivers exceptional performance for gaming and everyday tasks. The tablet’s cooling system keeps it running smoothly without overheating, even during intense gaming sessions.

Cameras:
While the Nova features a 50MP rear camera and a 20MP front camera, the quality of photos and videos is average. The cameras are serviceable but may struggle in low-light conditions.

Battery Life & Charging:
The Nova boasts a large 10,100mAh battery and supports 80W fast charging, allowing for quick recharging. The tablet can last a good 4-5 hours of moderate gaming before needing a recharge.

Software:
The Nova runs on Android 14 with the Redmagic OS 9.5 overlay. The software offers customization options and a dedicated Game Space for optimizing gaming settings. However, the tablet’s software support is limited to two years, which may affect long-term usability.

Price & Availability:
The Redmagic Nova is priced competitively starting at £439 in the UK or $499 in the US. While it offers impressive performance for gaming, the limited software support may be a concern for some users.

Should you buy the Red Magic Nova?
The Nova is a solid gaming tablet with excellent performance and a compact design. However, the lack of promised software support may be a significant drawback for some users. Overall, the Nova offers a great gaming experience at a reasonable price, but potential buyers should consider the limited software updates before making a purchase.
