Elon Musk’s DOGE Team Cleans House at US Agency for International Development

The Trump administration made headlines recently as it placed two top security chiefs at the U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID) on leave. This action came after the officials refused to provide classified documents to Elon Musk’s Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE).

John Vorhees and Deputy Brian McGill, the two officials in question, initially withheld the classified materials, citing that the DOGE employees did not have the necessary security clearance. However, it was later revealed that no classified material was accessed without the proper clearances.

According to reports by the Associated Press, members of Musk’s DOGE team were eventually granted access to the aid agency’s classified information, including intelligence reports. This development marks a significant step in Elon Musk and his team’s efforts to streamline and improve government operations.

In a related move, David Lebryk, a top-ranking official at the U.S. Treasury Department, will be stepping down from his position. Lebryk, who has been a key figure in the department for years, clashed with Musk over access to a sensitive payment system used to distribute over $6 trillion annually in Social Security and Medicare benefits.

Elon Musk revealed that payment approval officers at the Treasury were instructed to always approve payments, even to known fraudulent or terrorist groups. This revelation has sparked concerns about the integrity of the payment system and raised questions about the oversight and accountability of government operations.

As Elon Musk and the DOGE team continue their investigation into the treasury payment systems, the focus remains on ensuring transparency, efficiency, and security in government processes. The actions taken by Musk and his team underscore the importance of accountability and oversight in safeguarding classified information and maintaining the integrity of government operations.
